The Week

I guess technically the week isn't over with, but oh well!

This past week was awesome at school! I didn't have to do much lesson planning since we were wrapping things up for parent/teacher conferences. They went amazing! It was so cool to see all the parents of these kids I teach. I'm shocked at how similar some students are to their parents. One girl looked exactly like her dad! And one dad couldn't stop beaming when I told him how wonderful his daughter is in my class. It was like he couldn't stop smiling! It was quite exhausting since we went for about 10 hours straight yesterday, but it was so worth it. One girl even brought me red velvet cupcakes. Yum!

Chris is doing awesome with his calling. Him and the boys had a campout a couple weekends ago which he really loved. He's starting to get into the whole scouting thing  (both of us have been trying to change our attitudes about it, since I'm involved with the Cub Scouts as well.) It has been a struggle to really throw ourselves into it, but I think being more positive has really helped.

Sunday starts our first practice with the Primary Program. Both the President and the First Counselor will be gone, so that leaves me and the Secretary to try and run things. Luckily, our amazing Pianist and Chorister will be there and they are well acquainted with Programs and will be able to help! I'm so grateful for them! By the way, I invited my Mentor teacher to come to the program. When I mentioned it she said it would be fun, but hopefully she really means it and will come! Her son is about to turn eight and I know would love the CTR 7 class.

In other news......my mom and I are auditioning for THE AMAZING RACE!!!! wooooohooooo! It's my dream to be on a reality show and I really want to be on this one! We're starting a training program tomorrow to build up our endurance so we can compete. We'll be sending in a DVD and our questionnaire probably in November. If we don't make it the first time, they are having open casting calls IN MEDFORD! (can you believe my luck??) in March. For those of you who are not from Oregon...Medford is only 45 minutes away! Crazy! Anyways, looking forward to that and will be posting updates about how our training is going!

And finally...chris and I are going to start Square Dancing lessons. They're on Tuesday. And, they're gonna be awesome =D
